I think the reason movies (and tv too, for that matter) tend to inaccurately depict reality like this is simply because they are trying to envision the most dramatic end of the spectrum in order to better engage and appeal to viewers -- the most high tech of government offices, the most good looking, attentive, and romantic of soap opera lovers, and so on.  Reality be damned, we&#039;re trying to sell a show here.  The downside is that it does tend to set people up with unrealistic expectations for how the real world works.  (&quot;Why can&#039;t you be more like the men in my favorite soap opera?&quot;  &quot;Um, because they aren&#039;t real.&quot;)</description>
